Everyday mobility
- In Krakow, transportation is rather inexpensive. You can spend 2 złoty (about 50 cents) using a 20-minute ticket (with student discount) which is enough to go the city centre or Vistula river. You can buy your ticket at a ticket machine or by using the Jakdojade app (iOs and Android), which also helps you to plan your trips and to buy train tickets.
- Make sure to always bring your student ID, since you may be fined (up to 250 złoty) if you buy a student ticket without being able to prove that you really are a student.
- In case you are planning to use public transport a lot, you can get a monthly transportation card using your student card for extra discount. Just download the official app mobilna KKM (iOs and Android), set up an account and put your Legytamcja (ISIC/student card) number to enjoy unlimited traveling in the city for 3 months for 222 złoty.
Mobility outside the city
- You can reach many cities in Poland for a very low price, again using your student card for a 50% discount. A highly recommended platform for intercity travelling is the official website of Polish trains, PKP Intercity. Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań and Gdańsk are our favourites and definitively a must-see!
