For better start of the semester
- Students at Uppsala suggest that, just like in other universities in the Consortium, it’s always a good idea to get acquaitanted with the various deadlines and class topics, since classes-be-prepared take place only a few times in a week.
For during the semester
- Students in Uppsala have highlighted that getting familiar with Sweden’s education system, which does work a bit differently compared to many university systems in Europe, can always be a bit chaotic.
- But the class environment in Uppsala encourages participation in class and asking questions, so seize this opportunity to get a better hang of everything and you definitely won’t be lost in the end!
- There are not many formal classes in Uppsala, the education system there tends to encourage students to be more independent and provide them with more space and time to work on our assignments, so you won’t have the same class every week, it depends on the schedule that they will provide for you.
- Some weeks you’ll have 3 classes but other weeks you might only have 1 class. There are even time where in a whole month you’ll only have 1 class.
- Before the starts of the class, the professors will provide you with the course guide for each course, which I found them to be very helpful, so you’ll have a clear explanation of what you’ll be doing in class, what are the assignments and each topic that you’ll discuss in class.
For language and elective courses
- They offer Swedish class for free in Uppsala, however but most of my friends who are Euroculture students, they all signed up for the course but later dropped it within 2-3 meetings due to time constraints and workload.
