Free time activities
- If you are interested in some sports, many students have suggested that you set an eye for Hochschulsport Göttingen.
- There are also many museums you could visit in Göttingen, which you could check out:
- You could also explore forests and lakes in the near countryside areas, and even more recommended, to hike the way there. Some students have already checked these ones below:
- [Herrmann's memorial](https://www.land-des-hermann.de/natur-aktiv/.) in Detmold with its panorama, huge Germanic-style statue and its promenade.
- Burg Hühlshoff with its museum, castle and promenade. If you are into reading some local thriller novel, you can try The Jew's Beech by Annette von Droste-Hühlsoff who was born and raised in the estate.
- The mountain park William's Heights in Kassel with its Herkules' panorama and its gothic leisure castle the Lion's Fort.
- Externsteine natural park and its promenades and hikes.
- Altenbeken viaduc and its promenade.
- Of course traveling is always fun (and for free with monthly tickets) to do in Germany, especially to nearby cities in Germany, like Berlin, Hannover, Hamburg, Dresden, Heidelberg and Nuremberg. Poland and France is also not too far if you’d like to see something new outside of Germany.
