Research process

• Accommodation options in Göttingen really vary. Asides from the university dormitories, private rooms are generally also available at budget-friendly prices. Some students have also recommended WG Gesucht. And Immowelt is also mentioned as a reliable one.
• This agency, Rohmann Immobillen GmbH, was used and approved as good one by our students. You do not to pay them extra money for their work, no commission! Buildings supervised by this agency are usually equipped with washers and driers that you can use by buying tokens for one hour (2 EUR for token).

Living

• Every new inhabitant has the obligation to register at the Residential Registry Office by presenting an address proof in the next month following their moving-in, you can book an appointment under this link.
• After registering, you will regularly receive per post a radio and TV invoice from ZDF-ARD that you have to pay (18,36 euros per month); if you are living in a WG, you can split the cost with your flatmates by registering under the name of those already registered.
  • P.S. Don't forget to unregister when you are leaving the city, because if you’re still registered, you’ll still have to pay! Have an appointment less than 7 days before your planned departure, otherwise you will not be unregistered and your appointment will be rescheduled for another time within that timeframe.
